''Here today, goo tomorrow''

Cadbury's Creme Egg – one of the powerhouse chocolates of the Easter period, have been in the media limelight for all the wrong reasons for the past couple of years. A storm of protest ensued from consumers when the recipe was altered in 2015 to use a cheaper chocolate variation as opposed to the traditional Dairy Milk.  As a result a whopping £10 million was reportedly lost from sales and the reputation turned to goo.

In the end it is left up to the consumer to decide whether they still enjoy the taste of the Creme Egg as the manufactures consider whether the recipe fix is worth the hit in popularity. Perhaps if not, the famous egg really will be here today and goo tomorrow.

"Do Yourself Proud"

With just two days to go until the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games, make sure you tune in this weekend to witness some of this year’s event. Every year Sport Relief alternates with Comic Relief, as thousands of volunteer’s team up to raise money for the charity - in association with the BBC - by competing in a variety of sport related activities to help raise money for the poorest areas of the globe.

This year there will be the usual celebrity involvement with Eddie Izzard running 27 marathons in 27 days, the Little Britain characters re-uniting, Jo Brand walking from one side of the country to the other, Bear Grylls walking a mile in high heels and much, much more...

There's a distance for everyone, whether you're sporty or not, so this weekend do yourself proud.

''Picked at the peak of perfection''

The  Jolly Green Giant first graced TV screens in the 1960's. Virtually everyone will be familiar with the mascot, as made famous by the canned vegetable brand, Green Giant.

The Valley of the Jolly Green Giant (as seen in the original 1960's TV ad) where the original corn was ''picked at the peak of perfection'' - refers to the Minnesota River valley area in the States. Today, just before dropping down into the valley heading south an enormous wooden sign of the Jolly Green Giant, along with the Little Green Sprout, is visible with the caption "Welcome to the Valley." Since the sign pokes up through the trees, it has become a source of minor controversy as it frequently startles motorists.

''A Penguin for every shelf''

In light of the fact that yesterday was World Book Day - top of the Twitter trends #WorldBookDay - and in recognition that Penguin books have forever been a staple part to bookshelves in many households we've chosen Penguin as our Pure slogan of the week.

With Mother’s Day looming (Sunday just in case you needed a quick reminder) there’s no better gift than a good old fashioned Ladybird (who are part of Penguin) book.

"How it works - The Mum" is likely the most appropriate of the Ladybird series, but there are also some other interesting ones including "The Hipster" "The Husband," even "The Hangover," which may also be relevant to some on Sunday.

With such a wide variety of themes, and aimed at all ages, its more than likely there will already be one nestled on your bookshelf at home.
