''At the heart of the image''

Nikon are famous for production of their timeless and classic cameras and lenses. Interestingly every Nikon camera is marked with ‘’Made in Occupied Japan’’ because they were manufactured in the years after WW2. Nikon have also been famed for making the first underwater camera in 1992.

Here are some images from the 2015 Nikon photo contest:

The slogan makes an interesting connotation towards the power of images and the significance of the heart and passion towards the image and photography

''Once you go Jack, you never go back''

Considering it's Friday, the world's most renowned whiskey seemed like an apt choice for Slogan of the Week. The founder of Jack Daniel's was actually called Jasper Daniel but was nicknamed Jack when the hard stuff began being produced in the late-19th century.

The 'number 7' has a mysterious context, with much speculation surrounding it.  It was rumoured that Jack had 7 girlfriends while others say he lost a batch of whiskey for 7 years before re-finding it. Whatever the reason the name has become synonymous with the brand ever since.

We went Jack and we ain't going back.

The best a man can get

Our Pure slogan of the week is Gillette’s “The best a man can get”.

Gillette started as a small business by King Camp Gillette, who invented and later patented the best selling version of the safety razor.

The design of the razor allowed for steel stamped razor blades to be used, rather than the popular forged blades at the time, which required regular sharpening.

“The best a man can get” was first introduced as a campaign to create an association between masculinity and premium products, while also recognising the “ritualistic” nature of shaving for men.

Today, Gillette has become one of the most recognisable brands in the portfolio of Procter & Gamble. Its acquisition in 2005 for $57 billion, meant that Procter & Gamble had climbed to the first position as the world’s largest consumer products company.

Walk in Crawl Out

It's January, which means many people will be making their new year's resolutions. Without a doubt 'I want to try and get fitter' will be a top resolution for most. The slogan 'Walk in Crawl Out' used by the London based gym franchise Gym Box (with one just around the corner from us here in Farringdon) fits this weeks Pure slogan perfectly.

The Gym Box philosophy evolves around the idea of working out with a 'smile' while energising and igniting every member as they sweat it out.
