A Snowman With Spring In His Step

With the April heatwave coming to an end, we were taken by surprise this morning when we saw The Snowman, still "walking in the air", appearing to be the only thing clinging on to the "magical" British winter (though barely!)

Although, on second thought, he really isn't walking in the air... he's been hitching a bus since the 26th November 2014, and can't seem to find his stop!

The perennial family favourite made its appearance at the Peacock theatre, before finishing post-New Year (4th January to be precise).

Yet the Snowman doesn't seem to care, and why should he? "Surfing", "swimming" and "drifting", I'm sure he's feeling quite smug about (almost) sticking around to check out our rare heatwave, almost as if through "sheer theatrical magic".

How Nice.

A Close Shave

On 23rd of March we made a #PurePoint, commenting on the strong brand visuals and strategic placement (opposite a barbers) of Stella Artois’ 48 sheet ‘Make the cut’.

4 days later Innis & Gunn issued a short back and sides for the Belgian brand, slamming Stella Artois for being pretentious with a pretty hairy response, ‘Cut Le Crap. Drink Scottish’, followed by this blasé tweet “Sorry to the Belgian neighbours. #DrinkScottish”.

To be honest, we can’t be sure if this is a real billboard or foul-mouthed wizardry, either way somebody needs to book themselves in for a clean shave (and get to their mouth washed out) after this cut-throat media placement.

In the meantime, check out these hilariously atrocious hair salon puns...

No probably about it

Here's an example of a great (simple) execution and idea, on a poster site in Shoreditch this week that’s relevant (On the Old Truman Brewery) and literally interactive. Great use of traditional outdoor media, combined with innovative creativity to amplify and engage the target market.

We salute you Carlsberg, you used a non-digital media option in an ultra-digital age and made it work using good honest principles of media.  Now that’s a shareable idea...

Bravo.
